Your first name will work as password only when you're inside my isolated computer lab.
When you instead browse from the outside world to the page I made on googlesites ( http://sites.google.com/a/saintannsny.org/2nd-courses-web/ ) you'll use the password of your choice. On your first visit you'll have to tell google what password you want to use. Here's an illustrated step-by-step:

Point your web browser at ( http://sites.google.com/a/saintannsny.org/2nd-courses-web/ ). You'll be asked to choose among 2 kinds of sign-in, and you should use the lower choice (first attached picture) "Enter your email address".

This will (I hope) get you to a screen with a red-topped picture and a place where you could sign into google sites IF you already have a google password. On your first visit you'll need the lower choice, in which you "create an account now", using your full email address and the password of your choice. On subsequent visits you may respond to the red-topped picture's upper choice, filling in your email address and that password you chose.

Voila! You should then be at our class online page, looking somewhat like the picture here.
(Within our computer lab I made up the accounts and passwords for you in advance, but I couldn't do that with google -- doing so would have required me to lie to google and impersonate you while creating your account.)
